Publishing Ethics Statement

The Pan African Journal of Hospitality (PAJH) is committed to maintaining high standards of research integrity, academic honesty, transparency, fairness, confidentiality, and ethical scholarly publishing.

The journal expects authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher to act responsibly and ethically throughout the publication process.

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors should:

• Submit original work.
• Ensure that the manuscript has not been published elsewhere.
• Properly acknowledge and cite sources.
• Report research findings honestly and accurately.
• Avoid fabrication and falsification of data.
• Ensure appropriate authorship.
• Disclose relevant conflicts of interest.
• Obtain appropriate ethical approval where required.
• Respond appropriately to questions concerning their research.
• Disclose substantial use of generative AI where applicable.

Responsibilities of Editors

Editors should:

• Evaluate manuscripts fairly and objectively.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Make editorial decisions based on scholarly merit.
• Avoid discrimination based on nationality, gender, institutional affiliation, religion, ethnicity, or other irrelevant characteristics.
• Manage conflicts of interest appropriately.
• Protect the integrity of the journal's scholarly record.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers should:

• Conduct reviews objectively and professionally.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Identify relevant published work that has not been cited where appropriate.
• Identify potential ethical concerns.
• Declare conflicts of interest.
• Avoid using unpublished information for personal advantage.

Responsibilities of the Publisher

The publisher supports the editorial independence and integrity of the journal and seeks to maintain appropriate systems for publication, preservation, correction, and dissemination of scholarly content.

PAJH will take appropriate action where credible concerns regarding research or publication ethics are identified.
