Authors' Guideline

The Pan African Journal of Hospitality (PAJH) welcomes original scholarly contributions that advance knowledge and professional practice in hospitality, tourism, travel, hotel management, events, food and beverage services, and related fields.

Types of Manuscripts

PAJH considers:

  • Original Research Articles
  • Review Articles
  • Systematic Reviews
  • Conceptual Papers
  • Case Studies
  • Industry Studies
  • Methodological Papers
  • Policy and Practice Papers
  • Interdisciplinary Research

Originality

Manuscripts submitted to PAJH must be original and must not have been published previously or be under consideration for publication elsewhere.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that all submitted materials are accurate, properly referenced, and ethically prepared.

Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts should be written clearly and professionally and should normally contain:

  1. Title
  2. Author names and affiliations
  3. Corresponding author's contact details
  4. Abstract
  5. Keywords
  6. Introduction
  7. Literature Review or relevant theoretical background
  8. Methodology
  9. Results and/or Findings
  10. Discussion
  11. Conclusion
  12. Recommendations, where appropriate
  13. References

The structure may be modified where appropriate to suit the nature of the research.

Abstract and Keywords

Each research article should include a concise abstract presenting the purpose, methodology, major findings, and conclusions of the study.

Authors should provide appropriate keywords to facilitate indexing and discoverability.

Tables and Figures

Tables and figures should be clearly numbered and appropriately titled. All tables, figures, photographs, charts, and other visual materials must be properly referenced in the manuscript.

References

Authors must provide complete and accurate references for all sources cited in the manuscript. Citation and referencing should be consistent throughout the manuscript.

Ethical Requirements

Authors must comply with accepted standards of research integrity and publication ethics. Where research involves human participants or other ethical considerations, appropriate ethical approval or relevant documentation should be obtained where required.

Plagiarism and Duplicate Publication

PAJH does not accept plagiarism, fabricated or falsified research, duplicate publication, or other forms of academic misconduct. Submitted manuscripts may be screened for plagiarism.

Artificial Intelligence

Authors may use generative artificial intelligence tools for appropriate purposes such as language improvement, grammar correction, formatting, and limited editorial assistance.

AI systems must not be listed as authors. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and ethical aspects of their manuscripts.

Where generative AI has been used substantially in preparing a manuscript, appropriate disclosure should be provided.

Submission

Authors should submit manuscripts through the journal's online submission system.

Authors should ensure that all required submission information and files are provided before completing the submission.
