Generative AI Policy

The Pan African Journal of Hospitality (PAJH) recognizes the growing use of generative artificial intelligence tools in academic research, writing, analysis, and scholarly communication.

Authors may use AI tools for appropriate purposes such as language improvement, grammar correction, formatting, translation, and limited editorial assistance.

Artificial intelligence systems must not be listed as authors, because AI systems cannot take responsibility for the originality, accuracy, integrity, or ethical aspects of scholarly work.

Authors remain fully responsible for all content submitted to PAJH, including:

  • Text
  • Data
  • Figures
  • References
  • Analyses
  • Interpretations
  • Conclusions

Authors should carefully verify AI-generated information because such tools may produce inaccurate, incomplete, fabricated, or misleading information.

Where generative AI has been used substantially in preparing a manuscript, authors should provide an appropriate disclosure describing the nature and extent of its use.

The use of AI must not replace the author's responsibility for conducting original research, maintaining research integrity, or ensuring the accuracy of the submitted work.
